These are the 'Unique' Playing Cards. These unusual cards are actually a traditional deck of cards designed by Ian Roth, a young, New York based artist and filmmaker.
The face cards feature portrait images of New York artists, performers, writers, activists and educators created using a special 'direct scan' technique with unconventional lighting sources. The number cards feature a variety of hands counting out the value of each card in a creative way. This deck is a work of art, yet a fully functional poker-sized deck for all traditional cards games, and the complex images add a whole new dimension to an average game of solitaire.
All decks are professionally printed on Heidelberg Presses by Cardmasters, New Delhi, India, and come wrapped in cellophane within a traditional tuck box.
